This time the CR association have initiated a step towards environment. Yes, they have this time an eco-friendly Durga Idol, they however have done it in the past as well. But due to extreme awareness in the past few months, this step of theirs is creating an inspiration. This is to save Yamuna river. The star attraction this year at Chittaranjan park is they have made their own pond in which Durga Idol shall be immersed.
A tribute to the musical legends
This year Durga Puja at CR will be a tribute to two musical legends, Manna Dey and Hemlata Mukherjee, and hence Puja here is on the Musical theme. Pandals prepared here are representing artists from Indian Cinema, and of course art and culture.
Basically, the theme here is to capture the glorious aeon of Indian music. Main entrance is specially designed keeping the gist in mind.
Ankita Bhattacharya on board
Samiti has already invited the Bengali winner of Sa-Re-Ga-Ma Ankita Bhattacharya. She will be performing at the Puja this year. Amit Paul, a participant of Indian Idol and a famous singer too will be appearing here for a performance. Other local bands and groups will bring off at the Puja.
